An exciting full time, fixed term contract opportunity has become available for a Community Manager, reporting to the Village Manager.
The Community Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a residential life program and providing pastoral care to the Village community, whilst meeting agreed budget targets.
We are looking for a mature and confident individual with the ability to interact appropriately with individuals at a range of levels. With well-developed management or supervisory skills, you are able to effectively communicate with, and manage or coordinate teams.
You must possess a demonstrated affinity with students and young adults, together with knowledge and understanding of the pressures affecting such students. An ability and willingness to participate fully in the cultural, pastoral and recreational life of the Village residents will see you succeed in this role.
Key areas of the role include:
- Develop and manage a dynamic residential life program that supports the requirements of CLV’s Live, Learn and Grow framework.
- Manage day-to-day activities on social media platforms.
- Assist with the promotion of the Village at all University events including open days.
- Effectively manage delegated budgets and assist with budget preparation by providing strategic budget information as required.
- Provide advice and support for residents, assess and monitor needs of residents and respond appropriately and in a timely way.
- Ensure all residents complete mandatory inductions and orientation programs as required.
- Provide timely reporting as required on all aspects residential life.
- Support the Village Manager as required across all functions of Village operations.
- Undertake the recruitment of and manage the Resident Assistant (RA) team.
Essential criteria for this role include the following experience and skills:
- 2 -3 years’ experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated experience in community development through engagement and social media initiatives.
- Great communication skills and the ability to work well within a small team.
- Highly committed to the customer service experience with the ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills in a high volume customer service environment.
- Well-developed management and supervisory skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and manage or coordinate teams.
- Excellent organisational skills along with effective time management skills.
- Hold a formal qualification in a relevant area, preferably in hotel or business management, attained at University or other tertiary educational institution or relevant experience.
