Job Description

This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same—from welcoming new residents and building vibrant residential life programs, to rolling up your sleeves with room refreshes or minor maintenance when needed.

Based at our Bunbury Village and reporting to the Operations Manager, you will have full responsibility for the village in their absence and will often work independently. You’ll be the heart of the community, the first point of contact for residents, and the driving force behind engagement, wellbeing, and a strong sense of belonging.

If you’re someone who enjoys ownership, flexibility, and being deeply involved in both people and place—this role is for you.

At the core of this role is community. You will shape the resident experience through strong relationships, engaging programs, and a supportive environment that helps students thrive academically, socially, and personally.

Key Responsibilities

Community and Residential Life

  • Develop, implement, and continually improve a Residential Life Program aligned with CLV’s Live, Learn and Grow framework
  • Build a welcoming, inclusive, and engaged community focused on resident wellbeing and connection
  • Plan and facilitate apartment and community meetings as required
  • Provide pastoral care and support, assessing resident needs and responding appropriately and promptly
  • Act as the senior on‑site representative of the village in the absence of the Operations Manager

Engagement

  • Lead the Residential Assistant (RA) team in planning and delivering a monthly calendar of events
  • Recruit, induct, train, and performance‑manage the RA team
  • Drive creative engagement initiatives that enhance student experience and participation

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with residents, local stakeholders, universities, and service providers
  • Support village promotions at University Open Days and events
  • Assist with marketing, sales, and promotional activities in collaboration with the Operations Manager and marketing team

Operations Support

  • Support all aspects of village operations as required—from check‑ins and check‑outs to room refreshes
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks and day‑to‑day village presentation
  • Manage village social media channels and third‑party listing platforms
  • Step confidently into an autonomous role, managing daily operations when working solo

This is a permanent part time role working Friday, Saturday and Sunday on contract until the end of 2026 with the possibility of extension.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You’re a people‑first professional who’s equally comfortable running an event, supporting a student in need, or handling practical tasks around the village.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in student accommodation, community management, hospitality, or residential life (or similar)
  • A high level of initiative, independence, and accountability
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for student wellbeing and engagement
  • Confidence working alone and making decisions on the ground
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a “no task too small” mindset
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and problem‑solving skills

Why apply for this role?

  • Have a day off on your birthday on us.
  • CLV offers an attractive total fixed remuneration (TFR) which includes employer superannuation contributions
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with a high focus on employee’s wellbeing
  • Discount program (Flare) with discounts on everyday items and big-ticket items
  • Employee recognition awards
